 Mrs. Cameron Visits Japan Minimize

Susan.jpg  Mrs. Cameron

I began my teaching career in Mesa, Arizona at Fremont Junior High. At Fremont I taught language arts for 8 years before moving to Mesa high School where I taught drama and English. At Mesa High, I also worked as the Study Skills coordinator and Instructional Specialist. In 1998,

I took a job at the Salt River Maricopa Indian Community Schools where I remain today as the District Curriculum Administrator for the early childhood center, elementary school, and junior/senior high school.

My husband and I live in Mesa, Arizona where we have raised two grown sons. In addition, we are the proud grandparents of Madison, Blake, and Kaelynn.

Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund

I have been selected to participate in the 2006 JFMF Educator Program. I will receive a fully-funded three week experience in Japan. At seminars in Tokyo, I will join other educators from across the United States and be introduced to the Japanese culture and education system. We will meet with Japanese government

officials and educators, and visit urban schools, museums, and historic landmarks.

The highlight of my trip may be the few days I spend in a home stay with a Japanese family in Hiroshima. There I will visit local schools, a teachers. college, and interact with Japanese teachers, students, and parents.
